Cervical screening update: HPV self-testing developments

WNL WIDE

HPV self-testing is being expanded, with the London GP offer open to all general practices.

In September 2025, The NHS began offering HPV self-testing through general practices and some sexual health clinics in London.

In August this year, NHS England began rolling out postal HPV self-testing nationally. The postal offer will be introduced across London this Autumn.

For more information about the programmes including frequently asked questions, read the HPV self-testing communication toolkit.

Practices can also access resources and information on how to take part in the London GP offer, on the NHS England London cervical screening resources webpage.
