Hillingdon Hospital update: Practices asked to log MESH correspondence errors for tracking

Hillingdon

The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust wishes to apologise for an issue that affected clinical correspondence sent to GP practices from 2 October. Following the transition to the Message Exchange for Social Care and Health (MESH) system, an unexpected system error resulted in some correspondence documents being transmitted as blank documents. The trust recognises the inconvenience and potential disruption this may have caused and sincerely apologises for the impact on practices and teams.

NHS West and North London ICB and the trust have worked with platform provider the Phoenix Partnership (TPP) and the underlying issue has now been identified and resolved.

Actions for practices

To ensure practices receive the intended information, all affected discharge correspondence generated from 2 October onwards has been resent. Practices are ask to disregard any blank documents received as a result of this issue and refer to the replacement correspondence.

Practice affected by this issue are asked to log an incident with the NWL Service Desk, even if the issue has been raised through another route. This will help ensure that the number of affected practices is accurately captured and tracked.

The ICB and the trust appreciate the patience and understanding shown while the issue was being resolved and apologise again for any inconvenience caused. Practices with concerns, or those that believe correspondence is still missing, should contact The Hillingdon Hospital GP Liaison.
