National Diabetes Audit 2025-26: Review your practice performance

BarnetCamdenEnfieldHaringeyIslington

The National Diabetes Audit 2025-26 findings relating to delivery of the eight diabetes care processes have been published. Performance can be viewed at both primary care network and practice level for each care process, covering both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

Improving uptake of the eight care processes is a key priority for the network. This is particularly important as completion of these processes is now included in the Quality and Outcomes Framework 2026-27 and the Modern Service Framework.

Delivery of the eight annual diabetes care processes remains a key component of high-quality diabetes management and is recommended within NICE for people with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Improving completion of these checks supports early identification and management of complications, helping to reduce long-term morbidity and improve patient outcomes.

The NCL GP Provider is sharing this information to support local reflection on recall systems, workflow processes, and any operational barriers that may be affecting delivery. Local demographics and health inequalities can significantly influence uptake and completion rates and should be considered when reviewing the published data.
