The Haringey Talking Therapies service has been receiving an increasing number of complex referrals from GPs that do not meet referral criteria.

The service is specifically commissioned for individuals experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and depression. Referrals involving active risk, significant complexity, severe and enduring mental illness, or needs requiring specialist mental health intervention, or specialist drug and alcohol fall outside its remit and cannot be accepted. 

While the service follows a ‘no wrong front door’ ethos, clearly unsuitable referrals will be returned.

The team is always happy to discuss cases if there is any uncertainty or to review cases in advance.
