Whittington Health (WH) NHS Trust is changing the referral process for iron infusions. From Monday 2 November 2026, all non-emergency referrals must be submitted via the NHS e-Referral Service (e-RS). The existing process will remain unchanged for patients requiring an emergency, same-day iron infusion.

Action required

Ensure the correct referral pathway is followed and that all required clinical information is included with the referral. Incomplete referrals or referrals submitted outside the specified pathway may result in delays to patient care.
