Neurosurgical service for cranial conditions.


Eligibility Criteria

Inclusions

  • Cranial trauma
  • Cerebro-spinal fluid (CSF) disorders including normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), colloid cyst, Chiari malformation
  • Movement disorders for consideration of Deep Brain Stimulation and MgFUS
  • Facial pain
  • Craniofacial deformities
  • Peripheral nerve conditions
  • Patients aged 16 years and over

Exclusions

  • Patients with suspected brain/CNS cancer should be referred according to the cancer network guidelines via the 2WW pathway
  • Patients with confirmed brain/CNS cancer or metastases should be referred to Neuro-Oncology via E-RS
  • Patients with benign brain/CNS tumours should be referred to Neuro-Oncology via E-RS
  • Patients with skull base tumours should be referred to skull base via E-RS
  • Patients with pituitary tumours should be referred to pituitary tumours via E-RS
  • Patients with confirmed vascular pathology should be referred to Neuro-vascular via E-RS
  • Patients with spinal pathology should be referred to the Adult Spinal Neurosurgery service via E-RS
  • Patients under 16 years old
