CT and MRI (for suspected brain cancer only) imaging services are available for GP direct access. Imaging services are provided across multiple trust sites, with a central contact point for healthcare professional enquiries. Patient results are returned to the referrer within 28 days. If not received, enquire by email.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusions

Patients aged 18+ of all mobility and health conditions can be seen for

• CT abdomen and pelvis with contrast (suspected pancreatic cancer)
• CT KUB (specific referral criteria for patients with renal colic)
• MRI for suspected brain cancer (primary investigation) or
  • CT head for suspected brain cancer, only if MRI is contraindicated.

Exclusions

• Patients who do not meet the above criteria must be referred to the relevant specialism within the trust.

For MRI

• Patients with pacemakers may be excluded, further safety checks needed on a case by case basis.
