Neuro-oncology Service: Charing Cross Hospital

Neurology services provide diagnostic and management support for a range of neurological conditions.


Eligibility Criteria

Inclusions

  • New Cranial/Spinal tumours confirmed on imaging including benign and primary malignant (eg. meningioma, glioma, astrocytoma, oligodendroglioma, ependymoma) and metastatic.

  • Known Cranial/Spinal tumours that have been lost to follow up, including benign and primary malignant (eg. meningioma, glioma, astrocytoma, oligodendroglioma, ependymoma) and metastatic.

  • Confirmed cranial/spinal tumours who have moved into our locality and require transfer of care, including benign and primary malignant (eg. meningioma, glioma, astrocytoma, oligodendroglioma, ependymoma) and metastatic, following request from the patient.

Exclusions

  • Suspected Cranial/Spinal tumours who have not undergone imaging – these should be referred to the Brain CNS 2WW service via E-RS.

  • Acute presentations – these patients should be directed to their local Emergency Department.

  • Skull base and pituitary lesions – these cases should be referred via the relevant pathway (skull base or pituitary) on E-RS.

  • Patients aged under 16 years.
