Self-referral
Whittington Health MSK only accepts referrals from patients registered with an Islington or Haringey GP; any patients with an Enfield, Barnet or Camden GP should be referred to local MSK services.
The Whittington MSK Physiotherapy Service is currently experiencing high demand, with referral numbers exceeding available appointment capacity. As a result, waiting times for routine appointments are longer. For the latest information on waiting times and service updates, refer to the MSK wait times webpage.
GetUBetter self-management app
Patients are encouraged to use the GetUBetter self-management app for support with musculoskeletal conditions, including back, neck, joint and muscle problems. The app provides personalised advice, exercises and educational resources to help patients manage their symptoms and access support sooner.
Where appropriate, patients should be encouraged to try GetUBetter before referral, as many conditions can be effectively self-managed. Increasing use of self-management resources helps ensure physiotherapy appointments are available for those with the greatest clinical need.
